What is Fancy Plaiting?
Fancy plaiting is a decorative braiding pattern where multiple strands of material are interlaced to create complex and intricate patterns, rather than the simpler patterns of a basic braid.
It often involves using strands of different colors or textures to make these patterns stand out.

For custom design, we’ve got support from an art school graduate. Merlin will create the patterns for you.
You only need to give a rough idea, like “I want this kind of vibe” or “I want it to look cool with this color.”
She will turn it into a final design, so you can leave it to her with peace of mind.

※The number and placement of colors may be limited depending on the type of pattern.
Please note: Because the whip handle is cylindrical, not all parts of the design will be visible exactly as in the plan. The cylindrical shape may cause some parts of the pattern to be hidden, giving the overall design a slightly different impression. To make this easier to visualize, we add a blue square to indicate roughly how one side of the whip will appear. This helps you better imagine how the final design will look.
How to Order
- Fill out the order sheet with your preferences, such as “theme,” “character,” “image colors,” and “vibe.”
- We will create a design draft (revision requests up to two times are possible).
- Once the design is finalized, it is applied to the whip for production.
- You can check photos of the whip during production (optional).
Please note: delivery may take a few extra days compared to usual. We also welcome consultations for the final image or color scheme alone.

If you want to try creating your own pattern, we recommend the free site Faceplait.
- Access Faceplait.
- In Project Settings, choose your two preferred colors and experiment with patterns.
- Once your design is ready, use Save Design / Share to send us the share link.
- We will check it and let you know whether the design is feasible.
Tips
Left and right edges are connected: Since the handle is cylindrical, the left and right edges of the pattern connect. Be careful so that the pattern doesn’t get cut off in the middle.
Use both colors: For example, patterns like the following cannot be done with fancy plaiting because of the imbalance of color. Make sure each row includes both colors at least a little.
